Thank you for your kind comments about my book, 'Betrayal, The Murder of Robert Nairac GC'. One minor correction: Nairac studied Modern History at Oxford, as his Lincoln College file confirms. Mediaeval History and Military History were just two modules of the wide-ranging three-year course. Those were the parts that were most interesting to Nairac. Other modules, such as Political Thought; European History; General History, and Latin, did not engage him. He shone at subjects that did interest him, but specialisation was simply not possible at undergraduate level. Lincoln College's then History Tutor commented: "While... he shone at Mediaeval History, he had not much interest in modern times". As a result Nairac only achieved a mediocre degree (a Third), which was not really representative of his ability.
